So over the weekend and the week prior, I've been on a gaming grind playing most of the free PS3 games available with a Playstation Plus subscription. I decided to buy one month because it seems like a great deal for as many options offered to subscribers on a month-to-month basis. The games I downloaded to try out were Remember Me, Castle of Illusions, and Puppeteer. I am also working on both Uncharted and Uncharted 2's platinum trophy.
I finished the Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse yesterday and got all 12 achievements completing 100% of the game in one sitting. Very easy to obtain, Mizrabel battle is kind of tricky, but not extremely difficult. However, if you aren't good at platforming type games such as this, you may have to make many attempts to beat the final boss and possibly the Jack in the Box boss as well. The other boss difficulties are jokable. COI is actually a pretty good starter platforming game for those who are very inexperienced with platforming games like Mario, LittleBigPlanet, Castlevania etc. I gave it semi-cool points for also trying to replicate Super Mario 64's (SM 64) starting castle area. I say semi because it fell short from the castle in SM 64.
As you may have noticed, the tile is almost the same black and white checkers with slight differences. Draw your own conclusions.
Looking at them side by side, COI's castle insides look pretty neat, but they really didn't do much with decorating the of rooms leading into the levels. I felt they could have done much more. The statues too kind of bothered me because it felt like they should have had more color instead of blah bronze, simple silver, and weird gold/bronze. This aside, I had tons of fun playing this game minus having to wait to watch the cutscene at the end every time resetting after being killed by the final boss. That was annoying as fuck. Excuse my lack of a better word, but that's how it felt. No platinum trophy, but it felt good to completely finish and unlock all the achievements of a game in one day, one sitting.
Have a great week, minna-san*! *everyone in Japanese
PS MORE ABOUT REMEMBER ME, PUPPETEER TOMORROW WHEN I FEEL LIKE WRITING MORE
